This article examines the responsibility of airlines in cases of death of animals transported in the cargo hold of commercial aircraft. It addresses the intersection of animal rights and consumer rights, focusing on the protection of animals as sentient beings and consumers as holders of rights related to the safe transport of their pets. The article explores relevant legislation, judicial precedents, and proposes recommendations to enhance the safety and well-being of animals during air transportation.

Now members of multspecies families and constant companions, domestic animals participate alongside their guardians in numerous activities, such as travel, outings to parks and shopping malls. This increases the demand for spaces known as pet-friendly, witch not only allow the entry and presence of animals but ensure their full well-being. Although there is no federal law to regulate the topic, it is possible to identify, locally, basic rules for the provision of services and spaces that live up to such status. Animal dignity and its condition as a subject of rights authorize its participation in consumer relations and its characterization as a consumer, making disrespect for consumers rules and animal welfare subject to due reprimand.

The present chapter aims to discuss the legal and legislative possibility of applying exemption from medical-veterinary expenses in income tax, thus considering them as deductible funds from the calculation base of said tax. This need arises from the exponential increase in spending in this area, with the advancement of veterinary medicine, which accompanies human medicine, however, it clearly does not receive the same state incentive as the latter. This paper proposes the analysis of the norm as an inducer of conduct, as well as the need for its mitigation and adaptation in the logistics of the rigidity of exemptions, through the theses brought, which aim to insert the animal into the dynamics of tax exemption in quaestio, enjoying of the same benefit already granted to human beings, including medical expenses and, finally, the analysis of precedents and the bill that aims to regulate the issue, bringing exemption without the need for judicial intervention.
