Thoreau and the Philosophical Experience in the Context of Morality

Living simply and resisting government are like precepts of Henry David Thoreau's existence. His conduct, which proposes engagement with wild nature, causes his work to reflect experiences and meanings beyond the obvious. Inalienable conscience is the imperative by which Thoreau guides his intellectual activity and coins one of the most significant terms for political science: civil disobedience. In this work, I seek indications that, in Thoreau, life and work are parts of the same situation: a life of simplicity whose conscious action is enclosed within a moral context.
