Objective: To build, validate, and evaluate the effect of a mobile application on the knowledge of nurses at the Obstetric Center of the Professor Alberto Antunes University Hospital about SOP. Method: This is an exploratory and explanatory research based on the design method, where the application was developed using the Application Factory platform, with the following characteristics: ease of construction, without the need for knowledge of computer programming, and reduced cost. Results: Participants agreed that the application met the criteria of functional suitability, reliability, usability, and performance efficiency, and demonstrated satisfaction. It was considered effective in the application of SOPs, facilitating the understanding and use of these procedures. The receptiveness of nurses to using the application in their on-call routines suggested interest in technological tools to optimize their clinical practices. The advantages pointed out include standardization of care, reduction of errors and accidents, and safe and efficient practice. It highlighted the continued importance of adopting SOPs for the quality and safety of patient care. Final considerations: The implementation of the SOP application represents a significant advance in nursing practice, promoting standardization, safety and quality in the care provided. The findings of this study provide a solid foundation for future educational interventions and the development of technologies that can further optimize clinical and educational processes in hospital settings. It is expected that similar initiatives can be replicated and improved to benefit not only nursing professionals, but also patients and health institutions as a whole.
