Chikungunya Fever (CF) is an arboviral disease with rapid global spread, characterized by debilitating symptoms such as persistent arthralgia and chronic arthritis. The chronic phase of the disease presents therapeutic challenges, as the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying musculoskeletal pain are not yet fully understood, and a significant proportion of patients experience symptom chronicity. This study aims to evaluate current treatments for pain caused by persistent manifestations in the chronic phase of CF and assess the effectiveness of ongoing and emerging treatments. An Integrative literature review was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of available therapies in managing CF-related chronic pain. A total of 381 articles were analyzed from the PubMed, BVS, and Google Scholar databases, resulting in the selection of 8 studies for inclusion in the review. Findings indicate that Disease-Modifying Antirheumatic Drugs (DMARDs), particularly methotrexate and anti-TNF agents, may reduce the intensity and duration of chronic arthralgia. Additionally, interventions such as Pilates, osteopathy, and transcranial stimulation have shown a significant impact on improving functionality and pain relief. The review concludes that a multidisciplinary approach, combining pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapies, offers benefits in optimizing the treatment of Chikungunya Fever in the chronic phase, while also significantly improving the patients' quality of life.
