The research conducted with elementary and high school students in a public school aimed to investigate students' perception of environmental education and assess the effectiveness of educational practices implemented in the institution. Data collection was carried out through a structured questionnaire covering aspects such as knowledge of environmental education, perception of the human-nature relationship, environmental practices and attitudes, and the effectiveness of environmental education in the school. The results showed that 85% of students had heard of environmental education, though their understanding of the concept varied. The main topics studied included recycling, climate change, biodiversity conservation, and the sustainable use of natural resources. Most students acknowledged the negative impacts of human actions on the environment, such as deforestation and pollution. The research revealed that 65% of students participate in environmental activities at school, demonstrating positive engagement. However, students suggested the need for more practical activities and greater integration of environmental education into all subjects. Increased awareness of environmental issues was reported by 80% of students after participating in activities or lessons on the topic. In summary, the research highlights progress in environmental awareness among students but also points to the need for improvements in the educational approach to promote deeper understanding and more effective practices.
