Subcategorization of verbs marked with number-person agreement in Libras

In this paper, we aim to make a preliminary analysis of the characteristics that indicate verbs with agreement in Brazilian Sign Language, specifically, the verbs with person and number agreement. We also intend to identify if they inflect on first, second, and third person singular and plural, and, then, classify them, considering their relationship with each person. We collected our data from speech samples, by deaf signers, in different communication contexts, namely: lectures, narratives and lives stream, extracted from the YouTube platform. Our data show that there are different productions in person and number agreement of those verbs, which led us to subcategorize them into three types: i) directional verbs performed with both hands and continuous movement; ii) directional verbs that feature touch in the body and; iii) directional verbs with specified movement. We also identified that, for the most part, verbs do not show agreement in first, second, and third person singular and plural.
