Public policy in motion: the interface of educational and nursing sciences in building healthy school communities

Abstract

This article investigates the interface between Educational Sciences and Nursing in the implementation of the School Health Program (PSE), with an emphasis on building healthy school communities. Supported by a qualitative, descriptive-analytical approach, the study is based on documentary and bibliographic analysis, examining the legal frameworks of the PSE – such as Interministerial Ordinance No. 1,055/2017 – and the transformative role of intersectorality in basic education. The results show that collaboration between teachers and nurses enables comprehensive and pedagogical care, re-signifying the school space as an environment that promotes health and citizenship. It is concluded that the consolidation of healthy school communities depends on the effective articulation between health and education policies, with interprofessional training as a priority strategy.
