Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by challenges in social communication, repetitive behaviors, and restricted interests. The manifestation of ASD varies widely, both in terms of severity and specific symptoms, making each case unique (American Psychiatric Association – APA, 2013). According to (Pereira et al. 2021), early diagnosis of autism is fundamental as it allows for the implementation of appropriate interventions during the first years of life. Families face a number of significant challenges that affect both family dynamics and the mental health of caregivers. Lack of information and difficulty in accepting the child's condition, combined with a lack of adequate financial and professional support, exacerbate the situation, resulting in emotional and physical overload. The emotional and physical overload of the family can be alleviated with an accurate and timely diagnosis, as well as therapeutic support and specialized counseling.
